Corporate and Management Experience

For over 30 years, Mr. Bonaguide has successfully served in many roles in the Financial Services Industry; as an IT Vice President, CIO, Project Director and Senior Management Consultant. He has led the development and implementation of major IT initiatives supporting the varied business requirements of Life, Employee Benefits and General Insurance operations. Mr. Bonaguide has formed and directed collaborative efforts of business owners, end users, business analysts, consultants, vendors and IT professionals in defining problems and opportunities, developing varied, effective solutions, implementing comprehensive organization and IT change as well as measuring the results against expectation. In every endeavor, he has created solid, responsive and highly professional Information Services organizations. Examples include:

  • - As CIO of a $500 million all-lines Insurance company, directed the complete re-engineering of the 2700 employee company in 18 months. The streamlining of the P&C business functions resulted in substantial timing improvements in transaction processing enabling the firm to handle increased volumes by 30% over 24 months.
  • - As Vice President of Corporate Systems at a $50 billion Financial Services company, he managed a department of 200+ IT professionals in developing, implementing and maintaining applications including: Real Estate investments, Mutual Funds, Finance, Securities Administration and H/R.
  • - For the same company, he served as Corporate Executive for its billion dollar Canadian Life Insurance subsidiary. In two years, completely modernized and achieved total systems integration. Formed a Vice Presidential level Steering Committee to provide direction and oversight. The IT budget was reduced by 17% while capacity for operational growth was increased by 35% versus previous IT plan.
  • - Additionally, he has been directly involved and instrumental in several Financial Services Industry "firsts", including Intra-Company Satellite-based communication (voice and data networks), real time-multi-tiered applications for Securities management, P.O.S. Life and Property/Casualty sales and administration, Customer Relationship Management and integrated Call Center operations.

Other Activities

He participates in a variety of Business Organization activities and is an active member of a Professional Financial Services Consulting Group (ICP). On the personal side, he keeps himself in relatively good shape physically by bicycling and walking daily as well as working and being outdoors. He has been a volunteer Town Recreation Commissioner, developing a number of facilities (Recreation Area, Tennis Courts, Ball fields) and programs (Boys and Girls sports, swimming, etc). He enjoys new challenges and has traveled extensively, where possible immersing himself in the history, culture and environs of the location. These activities have provided much opportunity to share both new and familiar experiences with his partner, their friends, relatives and associates. His longstanding loving and mutually supportive relationship enables him to approach all facets of life and the working environment in a positive, caring and constructive manner.
