I have been exploring the use of new tools to help clients understand old tools, models, theories and ideas. I recently came across Sketch Cast which is a form of online doodle pad. While I would love to have a proper graphics pen, I went ahead and tried it out. Here is my first awkward effort in what I hope will be a regular category.
Sorry, it appears that Sketchcast has not been operational sinceĀ AugustĀ 2008.

Kurt Lewin is considered the “father” of modern social psychology. He adapted and applied the Gestalt perspective to personality theory and social dynamics and called it “Field Theory.” Lewin emphasized the explanation of human behavior in terms of the forces and tensions that move us to action.

How to use Force Field Analysis:
1. Identify the desire state or problem
2. Brainstorm the driving (positive) and restraining (negative) forces
3. How strong are the hindering forces?
4. What works to keep the situation in balance?
5. Which hindering factor has the biggest impact?
6. Develop an action plan to address it.
